Picking Sides 2024

It is only a few more days until November 5th, 2024, when the USA will finish choosing our next President.

If you've already picked a side, this post is not for you.

But if you're still unsure, or are just not wanting to vote for either, then read on.

First, I want to make clear that we should see no real differences between President Biden's policies and actions, and what we might see from a President Kamala Harris. President Biden's health has been on the decline since before he was elected. The chances that he has been truly calling the shots for more than a couple things are slim. Thus, as far as I can guess, it is unlikely that Harris will be allowed to call the shots either. At the very least, expecting anything to change under Harris is a bad idea. So we should be able to compare the last 4 years with the 4 years Trump was president and have a very good idea what we are in for.

That out of the way, I want to urge you to investigate the following questions and events. Don't get just one side. Get as many sides as you can, and do your best to sort out the truth from the lies.

Did Kamala Harris receive any votes in the 2024 Democrat primary election outside the convention?

  • Are there tens of thousands of children who crossed the border illegally, missing? As in the USA government became their guardians and then lost them.
  • Why did the Biden administration withdraw from Afghanistan in such a haphazard manner that it effectively surrendered the country to the Taliban, and gave the very organization we were fighting billions of dollars in high tech military equipment? How are women treated in Afghanistan now? What about other groups like the LBGQTA(etc.) communities?
  • What was your grocery bill in 2018, 2020, 2022, and now?
  • How much money was sent to fund war under Trumps administration vs. under Biden's administration?
  • How many foreign conflicts did Trump involve us in vs. how many Biden has involved us in?
  • How many political protestors were jailed under Trumps administration, vs. Biden's administration? Were any held in solitary confinement for weeks or months?
  • How many people accused of a crime were held without trial for more time than is legal, due to prosecution from Trumps administration, vs. due to prosecution from Biden's administration?

I could go on. But that's get way too long.

I hope you take my request seriously and put in a lot of effort to see where your own bias is as you research. I know my bias gets in the way of finding the best information on a lot of those questions, so it is hard. But if you do the research, then you will be able to vote with confidence.

That said, if you truly don't want to think about it, then I actually don't want you to vote. Uninformed voters are part of why our Government is corrupt. Whether you believe the corruption is on one side of the political aisle or the other, we'd be far better off if people did their research before voting. Voting one way just because your favorite news network, or talking head commentator, or podcast host, says to, is irresponsible and wrong.

So, go out and make an informed vote!
