- The trees that dot the lava fields are stunted due to lack of nutrients, but they are hardy little things.
- Flowering trees and bushes in spring 2018 were just dense with blooms. I had never seen anything like it. Sadly, I only had point and shoot cameras at the time, but I still found some good pictures.
